Review: Carl Larsson’s “Our Home”

by writereaderly

Larsson was a Swedish painter at the turn of the last century who, when snowed in, began painting scenes of his family life. This book is a rewritten English edition where one of his daughters narrates the Larsson home life. A lovely book.

Where it came from: Opshop
Time & manner of reading: In two attentive morning doses
Where it went to: As yet undetermined
Reminds me of:
Who I’d recommend it to: A great “slice of life” book for kids, what with the nice didactic narrative and all
Also reading: The Heart of the Matter by Graham Greene; The Plumed Serpent by D.H. Lawrence; The Reivers by William Faulkner; Moby Dick by Herman Melville; Gone to Earth by Mary Webb
